About the Technology
HubWorks! is intuitive in its approach to CCMS compliance, using next generation Web 2.0 technology. Web 2.0 technology not only allows HubWorks! to be accessible from any web browser in the world, it provides for Child Care organisations, scalability to adapt rapid government changes. HubWorks! CCMS can be accessed from any computer or mobile device with a web browser such as Telstra's T-Hub, iPad, Blackberry and most modern mobile phones. Unique user names and passwords will unlock the system. Using web based CCMS, HubWorks! ensures your organisation's data is secure. With web based, we do not access organisation or Service firewalls at all. Current software providers often login to your organisation or service's computers to activate, and update their software. If your current software provider is accessing your computers for any reason, there is no guarantee who is viewing private data. You may have material which is vulnerable under this process.
What is Web based
Some software providers who state they are web based may in fact be misleading. Ask these questions:
- Do I use www to login?
- Can I login via internet explorer?
- Can I login on a library computer?
- Can I login on a hotel computer?
- Can I login from a colleague or friend's laptop?
- Can I login from my iphone or blackberry?
- Can I login from an ipad or galaxy tablet?
- Can parents login?
- Can my educators login?
Benefits of Web Based
HubWorks! can be accessed from anywhere there is an internet connection. For example if there is a system outage or computer failure - information can still be accessed. There is absolutely no need for software and bug issues that are experienced on stand alone solutions. As long as the administrators have access to a computer which supports Internet Explorer 7 and up, Firefox, Mozilla, Google Chrome etc, HubWorks! will work.
One System - All Services
All services and service types can be managed from HubControl, your central dashboard.
HubWorks! is secured using True Business ID Wildcard SSL Ceritificates from Geo Trust. We are using up to and beyond some bank level security for all data, passwords and protection of your childcare data.
Your organisation has the security of knowing that their data is stored on the world's best purpose built, high volume, data storage servers. These servers are maintained and upgraded to have the latest technology available. This will save your organisation thousands of dollars over the years in IT support for staffing and hardware for CCMS. Storage is completely expandable, so head office will not have to expand or replenish their internal systems.
As a web based software provider it's our responsibility to keep child care service data safe. We take this responsibility seriously. If we don't keep your data safe we can't stay in business. That's why we spend the most of our money on data security over anything else. If your organisation is currently integrating data on in house servers, the odds are HubWorks! offers a better level of security than what is currently in place. The specialty environment, staff, security and practices for our CCMS is widely renowned.
Software and Network Security
HubWorks! software and infrastructure is updated regularly with the latest security patches. The traffic on our network flows behind an enterprise-class firewall to keep it guarded from malicious intent.
We are using High Grade Encryption. Advanced Encryption Standard (AES) 256 bit SSL encryption. It provides two primary functions: - SSL Encryption allows Service's data to be transmitted over the computer web securely. - Identity assurance (validation) allows www.equifaxsecure.co.uk to prove that we are exactly who we claim to be. What this means is that even if the information traveling between a Service's computer and our servers were to be intercepted, it would be nearly impossible for anyone to make any sense out of it. The protocol allows HubWorks! to securely communicate in a way that is designed to prevent eavesdropping, tampering, or communications forgery. It is the same technology used by banks and e-commerce companies such as eBay to keep your information safe and secure during transactions. In HubWorks! case, SSL keeps your communications absolutely secure (HubWorks! normal password protection keeps your information private, but SSL keeps it private and secure).
All of the application's Admin, Staff and Parent login passwords are stored in the database after encryption of the password using SHA1 (Secure Hash Algorithm). All service providers can access their service areas like children, reports, attendances using only valid Username & Passwords and these passwords travel in networks via secure SSL connection only.
Services currently have to upload from disks or download new versions to remain compliant. This is time consuming - and not streamlined to all services at one time. Upgrades occur on all computers simultaneously allowing your Organisation to breath easy. We deploy on Friday nights allowing weekends to test in a live environment. We constantly deploy new features, enhancements and bug fixes, so 'minor' and 'major' releases are a thing of the past.
Data Backup/Disaster Recovery
Twice daily backup occurs. Data is zipped and stored on a unique secure redundant server. No-one can directly access the data backup from the backup server. It can be only accessed by a specific key with secret key pairs only.
Your organisation can also create a backup plan either daily, weekly, monthly or quarterly to export latest data into CSV files for external data banking if required.
Software Licence & End User License Agreements (SLA & EULA)
Our Software Licence Agreement, is written to protect your organisation, services, parents and HubWorks!. All parents who agree to become an eparent must accept standard Terms and Conditions. Parents who use FAO Centrelink logins, facebook or email are familiar with this process. Terms and Conditions are standard global security protocols. While also specifying CCMS, activity and service protocols. world wide, we can also include further specifics that services may require.
Privacy Act and the National Privacy Principles (NPPs)
